Benchtop Lab Mill 8000 provides smooth and quiet operation, adjusting easily for four sizes of milling jars from 0.5–10L (17–338oz). The mill can handle sample volumes from 75mL to 4L and can be handled with unattended ease.
The estimated specimen capacity of jars is approximately 25% of the total jar volume. The volume for grinding media required is approximately 50% of the jar volume. The special HDPE High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) jars are disposable to avoid cross-contamination and feature baffled interiors for efficient wet or dry grinding action.
Each milling jar is held in a supporting metal sleeve for rigidity. Sleeves for 0.5 and 1L jars are stainless steel. Sleeves for larger jars are anodized aluminum.
The unit also holds other grinding jars from 3–7in (75–178mm) diameter and up to 11in (279mm) wide. Disposable Grinding Jars and Metal Sleeves are available separately.
A speed control switch gives 10–260rpm roller speed from the direct-drive 60 Watt DC motor. Operates on 120V, 50/60Hz. For 230V, 50/60Hz electrical supplies, the TR-502 Transformer can be purchased separately.
