Fritsch Disk Mills are ideal for grinding large quantities of hard-brittle to medium-hard solids, offering rapid operation and reproducible results. Premium and Classic Disk Mills achieve high final fineness, are suitable for batchwise or continuous operation, and feature a clean, user-friendly design for easy operation and maintenance.
Disk Mills grind materials with pressure and shearing action using a fixed and movable grinding disk. The material to be ground is milled between two counteracting grinding disks that have coarse, interlocking teeth. Ground material falls through a preset grinding gap into a collection drawer.
Operation is especially safe due to the central tension lock of the grinding chamber, and the chamber is completely accessible to easily clean the unit and change grinding disks. Service life of the grinding disks can be extended by changing the rotational direction to compensate for abrasion. The multilingual menu is easy to navigate and automatically displays the last entered grinding gap and time.
Units have a maximum feed size of up to 20mm, a minimum sample quantity of 20–30mL, and a maximum throughput of up to 150kg/h. The rotational speed grinding disk operates at 440rpm, and final fineness is defined from the outside by adjusting the digital setting of the gap width.
FT-131 Classic Disk Mills feature the ability to manually adjust the grinding gap with 0.1mm accuracy. Final fineness is 0.1–12mm.
FT-132 Premium Disk Mills feature motor-driven gap adjustment with accuracy of 50µm. Easily adjust the gap width and view all parameters on the digital display. Final fineness is 0.05–12mm. As an additional safety feature, the collection vessel and grinding chamber lock automatically.
The Disk Mill requires at least one fixed and one movable Grinding Disk, which are available in different materials and purchased separately.
