Gilson 3in Vibratory Sieve Shaker is compact, quiet, and ideal for efficient dry powder separations of small samples. It has an effective size range from No.4–635 (4.75mm–20µm) with woven-wire sieves. Extended sizes are possible with some materials. This electromagnetic sieve shaker is designed for chemicals, minerals, pharmaceuticals, powdered metals, cosmetics, abrasives, ores, foods, and other fine powders.
Its small size and portability allow easy set-up in areas near process operations or for remote QC/QA applications. Gilson's 3in Vibratory Sieve Shaker features a high frequency of 3,600 VPM at 60Hz and 3,000 VPM at 50Hz with 120V. The electromagnetic vibratory action with 0–100% amplitude control allows optimal settings for fine particle separations. In-line solenoid-actuated tapping action works at 60 taps/min during sieving to redistribute the sample on the sieve and break static blinding, which helps to rapidly clear undersized particles from mesh openings.
The unique Gilson EZ-Clamp system makes the insertion and removal of sieve stacks simple and convenient. The knobs on the clamping mechanism allow the stack to be released with a quick twist. The mechanism remains at a fixed height until the knobs are tightened to secure the sieves in place.
The shaker accepts 3in (76mm) diameter stainless test sieves or clear acrylic frame sieves. Included with the electromagnetic sieve shaker are the SSA-17 3in Acrylic Sieve Adapter and metal sieve cover. Order the SSA-15 or GAA-88 Acrylic Spacers for observing sample action while leveling the platform or for setting vibration.
The shaker has a rugged powder-coated steel case, variable control for vibration intensity, and a manual/timed mode switch. It has a digital countdown timer with a timer capacity of up to 99minutes, 59 seconds at ±1sec. The easy-to-read timer has a 0.5in (12.7mm) LED display, a pause function that allows the cycle to be suspended and resumed with no loss of test time, and a five-second audible alarm sounds after testing is complete.
The Gilson 3in Sieve Shaker operates on 115V, 50/60Hz. For operation on 230V, order the TR-502 Step-Up/Step-Down Transformer.
