Gilson Wet-Vac® Sieve Shaker is a self-contained particle sizing system for wet or dry sieving applications. This innovative design features rotary spray distribution, water recycling, vacuum assist, and total vibration control, ensuring maximum accuracy with optimum efficiency. Wet sieving is especially useful for coal and mining/minerals, marine sediments, soils, pipeline slurries, and other non-soluble materials, and Wet-Vac® operation closely simulates production conditions in wet-process industries. Particle size range is No.16–No.635 (1.18mm–20µm).
How Does This Product Work?
Powerful electromagnetic vibration with full amplitude control disperses and continuously reorients sample material on the test sieves for increased separation efficiency and accuracy. Selectable modes of dry, wet, or dry-to-wet sieving methods enhance sieving capabilities for a variety of material types.
A rotating spray bar in the sieve cover gently saturates the sample, promoting the gravity flow of particles through the sieve stack and preventing agglomeration. From below, a separate spray stream directed upward supports the passage of near-size material.
Filter paper positioned below the sieve stack recovers fines and can be monitored and replaced during a test cycle. The Wet-Vac filtration system applies a small vacuum to the filter paper throughout the test cycle, promoting the passage of wash water and ensuring complete recovery of fine particles. A transparent acrylic cylinder that nests within the sieve stack is included to allow observation of performance during a test cycle.
Controls and gauges for vibration, vacuum, and water systems are arranged for easy access on the ergonomic control panel. A built-in timer tracks total operational time up to 99 minutes, even when interruptions are necessary. A hand spray nozzle and hose for cleaning and flushing are included.
Water is collected for recycling in a 7gal (26.5L) holding tank. Alternatively, the Wet-Vac can be connected directly to a water tap and drain for once-through operation. The water pressure is adjustable to approximately 35psi (2.4bar). The custom-welded stainless steel cabinet is mounted on locking casters and houses the water tank, pump, vibrating assembly, valving, and other components.
