Lightweight Concrete Roll-A-Meter is a lightweight version of the popular roller meter. It is a simple and accurate device for measuring the air content of concrete mixes. It is required for use with lightweight aggregate concrete, but can reliably be used with any mix. The lightweight hard-anodized aluminum version is less than half the weight of earlier bronze models. The base and top are highly scratch and wear-resistant and fastened together with quick-acting stainless steel clamps. Water and isopropyl alcohol are added to the zero graduation on the neck, and the meter is inverted, rolled, and rocked until the air is removed from the concrete. Percent of air is read directly from the liquid level on the scale.
HM-32L may also be used as a pycnometer for determining the specific gravity of sand, gravel, and cement. Unit is supplied in foam-lined plastic carrying case with Strike-Off Bar, Tamping Rod, Syringe, Baffle-Bottom Funnel, and instructions. The unit has a 130in³ (2,130ml) base volume and a maximum diameter of 8in (203mm).
