Liquid Limit Grooving Tools are used with Atterberg Limits Testing to determine when a soil’s water content is at the point when the soil changes from a liquid to a plastic state. Grooving Tools are used with a Liquid Limit Machine to determine the liquid limits of the fine-grained portion of a soil sample.
SAA-8 Liquid Limit AASHTO Grooving Tool meets AASHTO T 89 specifications.
SAA-10 Liquid Limit Casagrande ASTM Grooving Tool w/ Gauge Block (Metal) meets ASTM D4318 specifications and includes a gauge block used to adjust the height of the drop.
SAA-10P Liquid Limit Casagrande ASTM Grooving Tool (Plastic) is made of plastic and also conforms to ASTM D4318. A plastic tab at the end of the handle serves as a gauge to adjust the drop height of the Liquid Limit Machine. Comes in a package of 10.
