Motorized Disk Mills provide effective performance for limited dry or wet grinding to a moderate fineness of coal, chemicals, ores, pharmaceuticals, nuts, grains, and other friable materials. They meet ASTM C409 requirements for the preparation of Hardgrove Grindability specimens.
These Motorized Disk Mills are equipped with a 1/3hp gear motor mounted to a welded steel base. The body is plated cast iron. Capacity varies with the type of material, but 40lb (18.1kg) per hour is typical. The oil-filled gearbox features the replaceable LCA-179 Safety Coupling to prevent overload damage.
The LC-82 models are available in 115V or 220V capacity and are equipped with tooth-type feed augers for dry materials and a set of fine-grinding discs. Feeders and Grinding Discs quickly interchange, and having more than one can prove useful for different sample types and to avoid contamination.
For wet or oily materials, LCA-173 Wet Grinding Feeder and Disk Set, which includes a worm-type feeder and fine-grinding disks, can be purchased separately. The LCA-171 Coarse Grinding Disk Set, also available separately, allows higher throughput of coarse product. Includes LCA-176 Dry Grinding Feeder & Disk Set and an 8ft (2.4m) grounded cord with in-line switch. An additional Complete Grinding Head Assembly is available separately as LCA-178.
