Fritsch Cross Beater Mill performs pre-crushing and fine grinding of medium-hard, brittle materials up to Mohs hardness of 6, and can also handle softer materials such as grains, seeds, dried plants, and resins. These universal mills feature an adjustable rotor speed of 2,000–4,000rpm in 200rpm intervals and are ideal for agriculture, forestry, geology, mineralogy, mining, ceramics, plastics, textiles, metallurgy, and construction materials.
Cross Beater Mills reduce materials by impact, friction, and shearing forces. The feeding funnel guides grinding material into the grinding chamber. Material is reduced between the impact plates of the beater and the teeth of the grinding insert. Maximum feed size is up to 25mm and maximum throughput is 80L/h.
Final fineness is 120µm–10mm depending on the material and bottom sieve inserts, which are available with trapezoidal openings from 120µm–10mm or with round openings from 3–10mm. Trapezoidal sieve inserts are used for faster milling with medium-hard to soft materials, while round inserts are ideal for brittle materials of medium fineness with uniform material size.
Cross Beater Mills are powered by a 1.1kW 3-phase motor with overload protection. A safety switch stops the rotor if the quick-clamping lock is opened. Units operate on 200–240V, 50/60Hz.
FT-16 consists of a grinding insert and cross beater made of cast iron with impact plates made of hardened steel.
FT-16V consists of a grinding insert, cross beater, and impact plates made of stainless steel.
Grinding insert, cross beater, impact plates, and 5L collecting vessel with filter hose are included. Bottom Sieve Insert must be ordered separately.
