Classic Grinding Bowls are used with the Fritsch Classic Planetary Mill to contain the grinding balls and material to be ground. Bowls are available in a variety of materials to suit the needs of each grinding application. Each bowl includes a lid and seal ring.
Grinding bowl material must be harder than the material to be ground. Multi-station mills should be operated with balanced loads. Bowls, balls, and sample volume should be consistent at each grinding station. It is recommended that fine sand material, such as play sand, be placed inside the jar of equal total mass and used as a counterweight. Grinding Balls are purchased separately.
FTA-301, FTA-311, and FTA-321 agate grinding bowls are suitable for soft to medium-hard samples.
FTA-302, FTA-312, and FTA-322 sintered corundum grinding bowls are suitable for medium-hard, fibrous samples.
FTA-303, FTA-313, and FTA-323 zirconium oxide grinding bowls are suitable for fibrous, abrasive samples.
FTA 304, FTA-314, and FTA-324 hardened stainless steel grinding bowls are suitable for hard, medium-hard, brittle samples.
FTA-315 and FTA 325 hardmetal tungsten carbide grinding bowls have steel casing and are suitable for hard, abrasive samples.
