Lottman Breaking Heads are used with conventional Marshall Stability Load Frames to determine Indirect Tensile (IDT) or Lottman values of asphalt mixes. The 4in, 6in, and 150mm Breaking Heads can be used to determine tensile strength ratio (TSR) by calculating stress levels between conditioned and unconditioned specimens.
MS-35 model is available for 4in (102mm) specimens.
MS-36 model is available for 6in (152mm) specimens.
MS-38 model is available for 150mm specimens and can also be used to perform the Indirect Tensile Cracking Test (IDEAL-CT) in accordance with ASTM D8225.
Each fixture consists of a base with upright guide rods and a top with matching guide sleeves. The upper and lower stainless steel loading strips have concave contact surfaces.
