Weighing Cradles are used in suspension weighing of samples for specific gravity or bulk density determinations. Small, Large and Mega models accommodate a variety of sample and pycnometer sizes and shapes. The cradles with samples are immersed in water and suspended by wire attached to the weigh-below fixtures of scales or balances. Suspension wire can be sourced elsewhere. SGA-135 Mega Cradle has a design similar to the Large unit, but accommodates even larger specimens and pycnometers. Accepts the HMA-260 Small Aggregate Washer Drum when used with the HMA-262 Vacuum Lid for Rice tests, the SG-18A 4,000g Vacuum Pycnometer and other oversized samples. Vertical clearance is 12.5in (318mm).
