Motorized Sand Equivalent Shaker agitates a prepared sample of fine aggregate in a specialized graduated test cylinder. The mechanical shaking increases repeatability while reducing operator variability when compared to hand agitation methods. Motorized Sand Equivalent Shakers assure precise speed and stroke and are ideal for labs regularly performing sand equivalent tests.
The shaker is equipped with a digital timer programmed with fixed times of 45 seconds or 10 minutes. The digital timer offers greater accuracy and overall performance compared to timed devices in other models, ensuring more reliable measurements and clearer countdown visibility. The 8in (203mm) throw at 175cpm is smooth, quiet, and efficient. The 1/8hp DC sealed gear motor is housed in a sturdy metal case.
The SE-2D includes a hinged safety cover with top viewing windows. It’s designed to minimize the risk of users contacting the moving components. The cover must be closed to operate the sand equivalent shaker, ensuring lab personnel can work confidently. Allow 10in (254mm) additional height for opening of the safety cover.
A clear plastic graduated test cylinder, purchased separately, is held securely by base pin and spring-loaded holder on the stoppered end.
