Reusable SC4 Spindles and Measuring Chamber are used with the LP-84 Rotational Viscometer and are designed specifically for asphalt binder testing in accordance with ASTM D4402 and AASHTO T 316. The range of size and shape options means the spindles are capable of distinguishing many viscosities and asphalt binder characteristics. Each spindle is manufactured of 316 stainless steel with a magnetic coupling. LP-84 Rotational Viscometer’s unique Toolmaster™ technology automatically recognizes Anton Paar spindles, preventing spindle selection errors and ensuring fully traceable results.

There are several spindle shaft options available. Choose from hook-type, one-part solid shaft, two-part solid shaft, or disposable. Hook-type shaft spindles are the most popular choice when testing modified binders with medium to high temperature and low viscosity.  Solid shaft spindles are more common when unmodified binders with higher viscosity are being tested.

LPA-402 Reusable Stainless Steel Measuring Chamber can be used with any of the reusable spindles and is purchased separately. A Disposable Spindle and Measuring Chamber is also available.

Q: Will this work with fan-forced heaters?

I'm very satisfied with this product. It was exactly what I wanted in my travel trailer, for a lot more accurate heating. Now I can pinpoint it to exactly the temperature I want, instead of guessing, sliding the conventional thermostat back and forth. Will for sure save on propane too! Nice back light when adjusting the temperature, making it easy to see even at night.
