6in Soil Density Mold Sets are used for Proctor Compaction tests for determining soil moisture-density relationship and can be used with soil compaction hammers and Mechanical Soil Compactors. Complete Mold Sets include a body, detachable extension collar, and base plate. Molds are 6in (152mm) nominal diameter, 4.584in (116.4mm) in height, and are made of rugged heavy steel, clear-zinc plated for resistance to rust. Volume is 0.075ft³ (2,124cm³). The mold Body, Base Plate, and Collar are each also available separately.
Mold bodies have either split or solid construction. Split molds spring open slightly when clamps are released to allow easy removal of compacted soil specimens. Solid molds are designed for use with sample ejectors.
