Calcium Carbide Reagent is used with Gilson’s Aqua-Check and Speedy 2000 Moisture Testers. A measured amount of reagent is placed in the unit’s test chamber with a 20g sample and two Pulverizing Steel Balls, where it reacts with moisture to pressurize the chamber. The reagent is sold in a 10lb (4.5kg) can. Empty 1lb Metal Can for Reagent is available separately for taking smaller amounts of reagent into the field for testing.

Q: Will this work with fan-forced heaters?

I'm very satisfied with this product. It was exactly what I wanted in my travel trailer, for a lot more accurate heating. Now I can pinpoint it to exactly the temperature I want, instead of guessing, sliding the conventional thermostat back and forth. Will for sure save on propane too! Nice back light when adjusting the temperature, making it easy to see even at night.
