Constant/Falling Head Permeability Test Set determines the permeability of granular soil samples by either constant-head or falling-head methods. These Test Sets come in sizes ranging from 2.5–9.0in (6.3–22.8mm) in diameter to accommodate granular soil permeability testing of a wide range of particle top sizes. The unit's clear acrylic sample chamber allows for easy viewing during testing. The chambers do not have sidewall ports. The sets are more economical but do not strictly meet ASTM/AASHTO requirements.
The test sets come with a clear acrylic chamber, compression spring, and anodized aluminum end caps with valves and ports. Necessary tubing is also included. The 6.0 and 9.0in models also include perforated plates for use on top and bottom of the specimens, while smaller size sets come with two porous stones. HMA-840 Single-Tube Manometer with Constant Head Reservoir is required for use and included with the permeameter test sets.
