Fritsch Variable Speed Rotor Mill is a reliable mill ideal for fast grinding of soft to medium-hard, brittle, fibrous materials, or temperature-sensitive samples with the use of the proper accessories. Material is milled by impacting against the ribs of the rotor and is also sheared between the rotor teeth and sieve ring, achieving a final fineness as fine as 40µm.
The maintenance-free, 3-phase motor features variable speed settings between 6,000–20,000rpm in increments of 1000. Equipped with a powerful frequency converter, this mill ensures motor output is precisely matched to the grinding material, resulting in faster sample feeding, higher throughput, and a constant rotational speed.
Innovative air routing constantly cools the rotor, all motor components, and the grinding material within the collecting vessel during operation. At the same time, a fan blows the cooling air into the mill through a particle filter.
Stainless steel rotors and sieve rings are extremely durable, low-wear, and suitable for all standard applications. The 8-Rib Rotor is used for fast milling of fibrous substances, the 12-Rib Rotor is used for feed particle sizes <10mm, and the 24-Rib Rotor is used for fine materials with feed particle sizes <5mm.
Sieve rings are available with trapezoidal, square, or round perforations. Trapezoidal perforations are suitable for medium-hard to soft samples and perform additional shearing effects. Square and round perforations are suitable for brittle materials to achieve medium fineness. Square perforations have larger throughput and less sample residue, while round perforations are ideal for a narrow particle size range.
