Steel Retainers Sets are used in unbonded capping for compressive strength testing of concrete cylinders. A steel retainer ring holds and confines Neoprene Pads in place at each end of the concrete cylinder specimen before testing. Steel Retainers are sold in sets of two and available for 6in, 4in, 3in, or 2in diameter concrete cylinders. The Retainers meet ASTM C1231 and AASHTO T 22 requirements and do not require acceptance testing.
The retainers are constructed of alloy steel and plated inside and out to resist corrosion. Retainers are precisely machined to specified dimensions. All bearing surfaces are plane to within 0.002in (0.05mm). Retainers last for several years with proper care.

HM-182 are used with 3in Neoprene Pads when testing 3in (76mm) diameter Concrete Cylinders.
HM-181 are used with 4in Neoprene Pads when testing of 4in (102mm) diameter Concrete Cylinders.
HM-180 are used with 6in Neoprene Pads when testing of 6in (152mm) diameter Concrete Cylinders.
